With over fourteen years of successful business operations and market share of 23%, Olayan Company for Car Accessories ('the Company' or 'Olayan') is undeniably the leader in the car accessories market in Saudi Arabia. Formed in the year 1995, the Company has grown ever since through a well-thought-of growth strategy, capitalizing on the untapped demand of car accessories products in Saudi Arabia. The Company, specializing in the retail and wholesale, operates in the domain of automotive aftermarket (car accessories) and outdoor and picnic segment, provides the highest number of products than any other player in Saudi Arabia and in the Middle East region. The Company has over the years carefully extended its list of products and services to cater to clients'™ demands and one such example is the introduction of camping and picnicking related products to its valued customers. Now as a whole, the Company provides a wide range of high quality products under four major categories; car customization and styling, 4x4 car accessories and add-ons, outdoor camping and picnicking products, and car electronic items.

Currently, Olayan has three showrooms offering its products and providing its services to car styling and outdoor activities enthusiasts. The Company operates and manages the operations of its showrooms through its head office in Riyadh. The Company initiated its operations of its first showroom in Ghurabi locality in the year 1995. This 800 sq. meter facility became a launch pad for the growth of Olayan'™s products and services. Later on, in the year 2003, Olayan Company commenced its second showroom in Tahlia Street, a renowned commercial street in Riyadh giving its brand name more exposure in the market, however, this showroom has been closed as the owner of the building intended to build a new structure. Continuing its pace in development and expansion, a state-of-the-art 2,000 sq. meter showroom was set up in the year 2005 in Khurais Road. The establishment of Khurais showroom marked a major milestone in the history of Olayan Company and has provided a clear competitive edge to its brand image.

The exceptional track record of the company is evident from the fact that sales turnover has remarkably increased to SR14.3 million in 2008 from SR.12 million in the year 2006, an increase of more than 17% in just two years. Also, the operating and net profit schedules have steadily rose from 2004 to 2008. The operating margin increased from 1% to 30% in the year 2008. Similarly, the net profit margin has grown to 31% in the year 2008 from 7% in the year 2004.

Even though, the automobile industry is facing unprecedented challenges, one area of the industry continues to thrive; aftermarket sales of customized parts and accessories. In fact, over the course of the last eleven (11) years the automotive aftermarket grew 104% compared with an average annual increase in new vehicle sales of 1.07%. Interestingly, according to a recently released report by the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) automotive aftermarket is estimated to be $38 billion market in the United States alone, while global aftermarket is estimated to be a whopping $213 billion market.

Moreover, the economic profile of Saudi Arabia seems to be promising for the car accessories business in the country. Economic and demographic factors such as increased customer pool, young age of the population, high urbanization rates (nearly 83%), low inflation rate, higher expenditures by the government and stable consumer confidence pose prolific opportunity for the car accessories business to grow in the short and the long run.
